Financial Literacy & Credit Building
AfriThrive supports families to break free of poverty and build sustained wealth. We offer a series of online and face to face seminars and workshops designed to help families:
1) Develop a personal budget and savings plan
2) Make educated financial decisions
3) Learn about a credit score, how to raise or repair their credit scores
4) Gain confidence in managing their money and credits
5) Realize their financial goals and stability.
Small Business Development (SBD)
AfriThrive offers a 10-week online small business development (SBD) training program targeting young immigrant and minority entrepreneurs in Maryland and greater Washington DC who have interests to start their own business.
AfriThrive program is designed with evidence-based adult learning theories, and interactive approaches that are contextualized, to build and strengthen the capacity of young immigrants to succeed as entrepreneurs.
The SBD program allows participants to acquire skills in business planning, business financial management, marketing and branding, credit and loans, and growing business impact and sustainability.
AfriThrive SBD program helps aspiring entrepreneurs to turn their ideas into lucrative business and supports their businesses to develop, survive, and thrive. Program participants are paired to shadow successful and more inexperienced entrepreneurs/businesspeople in their chosen field for a period of two to three weeks to acquire practical skills and experience.
At the end of the training, participants develop their unique business model, implementation plan and growth strategy.
The cost of the training is $1000. Thrive offers limited scholarships based on individual need.
Small Business Consulting
AfriThrive provides business consulting to small business program entrepreneurs or others who would need small business solutions. AfriThrive has a team of highly gifted and experiences individuals available to advice entrepreneurs on business strategy, problem solving and business leadership skills.
AfriThrive team helps small business entrepreneurs to draft a business plan, marketing and branding campaign, performance metrics and control systems, and analysis of financials and cash flow projections.
