AfriThrive CEO highlights significant progress in July Newsletter
Dear Friends of AfriThrive,
Welcome to the July edition of our newsletter! As we enter the second half of 2023, I am thrilled to share with you the remarkable progress AfriThrive has made in the Greater Baltimore-Washington DC region.
Together, we continue to make a significant impact in the lives of African immigrant families, and I am deeply grateful for your unwavering support.
One of the highlights of our recent endeavors is the extraordinary growth and development at our Cultural Farm at Poolesville. This vibrant space has become a thriving hub where African immigrant families can celebrate their rich heritage, connect with their roots, and foster a sense of community.
Thanks to your generosity and dedication, we have successfully established partnerships with local farmers, creating opportunities for them to showcase their talents and traditions. The Cultural Farm stands as a testament to the resilience and diversity of our community, and we are proud to be a part of its journey.
I am also delighted to share that our work has been gaining significant media coverage. A number of publications and media outlets have recognized the transformative impact of our programs in uplifting African immigrant families and promoting cultural integration. This recognition not only amplifies our mission but also attracts new supporters and volunteers to join our cause. Together, we are building awareness and creating lasting change in the lives of those who need it most.
However, as our food operations expand and we continue to serve more families, we face a pressing need for a refrigerated truck. This essential resource would enable us to safely transport fresh culturally-appropriate produce and nutritious food, from our community gardens and partner farms to our distribution points.
By investing in a refrigerated truck, we can ensure the quality and freshness of the food we provide, ultimately improving the access to nutritious meals for families and promoting their overall well-being. Your support in acquiring a refrigerated truck will enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of our food operations, enabling us to reach more families and make an even greater impact.
In closing, I want to express my heartfelt gratitude for your continued belief in our mission and your dedication to AfriThrive. Your support has propelled us forward, enabling us to create positive change in the lives of countless African immigrant families. As we embark on this journey into the second half of the year, I invite you to join us in building a brighter future for our community by contributing to our refrigerated truck fund. Every contribution, no matter the size, will make a meaningful difference in the lives of those we serve.
Thank you for your unwavering support, compassion, and commitment to AfriThrive. Together, we are transforming lives and building a stronger, more inclusive community.
Warm regards.
